Old Waimakariri Bridge Closed

The Old Waimakariri Bridge was closed at 5pm today, Wednesday 11 May 2011, for structural repair work following aftershocks.

At this stage the bridge is expected to remain closed for two weeks.

Please note this only affects the OLD Waimakariri Bridge, not the Waimakariri Bridge on State Highway One.
Public will be advised when the bridge is due to reopen.
