Tourism leader Hollyford Track Guided Walks, owned and operated by Ngai Tahu Tourism, has launched an exclusive fully guided one day heli-hike option for those who want to experience the most beautiful valley in New Zealand but may be short on time.

Hollyford Track manager Mick Holzmann said the Hollyford Track / Milford Sound - Premier One Day Guided Heli-Hike Adventure was a truly unique product because it delivered the diversity and very essence of New Zealand’s wilderness.

“It’s the only way to experience the best Fiordland has to offer all in one day,” he said.

The new heli-hike adventure includes a fantastic scenic flight over the Southern Alps, Hollyford Valley and Milford Sound, the opportunity to walk a section of the famous Hollyford Track, jet boating on the Hollyford River, plus a glacier landing and gourmet lunch.

“Our guides are natural leaders and story tellers, so deliver guests an unrivalled level of individualised interpretation and guiding,” said Mr Holzmann.

“This is a personalised experience with our guides sharing their intimate knowledge of the area. It’s a wonderful way to explore the very essence of New Zealand’s wilderness and a truly unique ‘once in a life time’ experience.

“Our clients’ comfort is imperative and we’ve developed this package to ensure that it exceeds their expectations in every way, even down to providing day bags and jackets if needed.”

Mr Holzmann said the door-to-door service included clients being picked up and dropped back to their accommodation by their guide for the day.

“During the day we provide morning tea at our own Pyke River Lodge plus a fully catered lunch at a unique alpine or coastal lunch spot.”
