CHRISTCHURCH

Spring is in the air. It’s a time of daffodils, blossoms, lambs and growth, and that’s worth celebrating.

Spring into the City and celebrate the diversity that makes Christchurch special with Culture, Comedy and Cookies. It’s all happening in Cathedral Square on Saturday October 6.

Cathedral Square is a marvellous place to get together and this is going to be a fantastic event, says Mark Hadlow, Christchurch City Council’s Events Production Team Manager.

“There will be Culture, from kapahaka to Bollywood dancers, drummers from the Cook Islands and Korea. Chinese, Irish and Hip Hop dance groups,” raves Hadlow.

“And then there’ll be Comedy, featuring some of Christchurch’s most celebrated acts including Motley 2, Lindon Puffin, Tiny & Slim, the astonishing Rubberband Boy and Dos Gringos, the funniest West Coast Mexicans you’ll have ever seen.

“And don’t forget the Cookies,” he says. “Come and have a cookie with the Mayor, Garry Moore, at his last meet and greet as Mayor in the Square.

Everyone is invited, bring your friends and family for three free fabulous hours of Culture, Cookies and Comedy.

Be prepared to party!
