There are only 11 days left for people to share their ideas for the Council's draft Central City Plan, which will guide the redevelopment of the city during the next 10 to 20 years.

Central City Plan Project Sponsor Mike Theelen says all ideas need to be in by Monday 20 June to be considered.

"So far we've received more than 62,000 ideas, but we're still looking for more.

"We're loading new questions to our website every few days, so even if you put forward a suggestion earlier in the campaign - you may now want to share more specific ideas relating to these questions."

Some of the emerging themes include: more 'green', more restaurants, vibrant activities and free wi-fi in the Central City.

Unique themes include: enabling more cafes to spill out on to the footpath, collaborative business working environments (hubs) and incorporating a Maori identity.

More than 300 people have attended the public workshops so far and the final three are being held over the next week in Linwood, Russley and Sumner.

"The response from the community has been fantastic. We're thrilled with the number of well thought out, intelligent ideas that are coming through," says Mr Theelen.
