Racer Bikes Cup, Engelberg, Switzerland

Samara Sheppard (Wheeler iXS, Rotorua) delivered a charging 7th place finish at the Engelberg seven lap Women's Elite race. This was Sheppard's second outing for her new, European based Wheeler iXS Pro team, and the strong result provides a definite boost in her build up towards the first World Cup of her 2011 European racing campaign. Katie O'Neill (Bergamont NZ, Rotorua) also raced to 11th.

In the Mens Elite race, it was National Champion Carl Jones (Bergamont NZ, Rotorua) who posted the best result of the three Kiwis in this tough field and raced over 10 laps, to finish 11th. Dirk Peters (Santa Cruz NZ, Rotorua) raced the first event of his three month European campaign to a 19th, and Sam Shaw (Rotorua) 24th.
