The mammoth task of removing Christchurch’s liquefaction continues today and will continue each day up to and including Friday. Federated Farmers is asking for everyone’s help by joining the Farmy Army and SVA at the A+P Showgrounds in Curletts Road.

“Today looks great weather wise, so if you can use a shovel or push a wheelbarrow, the Farmy Army and SVA really needs you,” says John Hartnell, Federated Farmers earthquake spokesperson.

“Yesterday was big but we’ve got an even bigger week ahead of us, up to and including Friday.

“We’re asking everyone to get down to the A+P Showgrounds in Curletts Road, each day from 7am.

“If residents need help clearing silt, they can either go online to www.sva.org.nz or call Christchurch City Council’s call centre on 03 941 8999 or 0800 800 169.

“So come down to the A+P Showgrounds in Curletts Road and be part of a great community response. Christchurch needs you,” Mr Hartnell concluded.
