Better Access Coming to Waitara Wharf

Work will begin this week to improve access to Waitara Wharf.

“Currently there’s a grass slope for people to walk down to get to the wharf,” says Manager Parks Mark Bruhn.

“We’re going to put in a concrete path to make it easier for people to access it.”

The project will take up two three weeks to complete, during which time the wharf will be closed to the public.

This is the final stage of the project to construct a new wharf facility for Waitara, which has been funded by TET and the Council.
