Hawaiian Airlines and Air New Zealand Renew 767 Heavy Maintenance Contract

Hawaiian Airlines and Air New Zealand Technical Operations have renewed the contract for heavy maintenance of Hawaiian Airlines’ Boeing 767 fleet at Air New Zealand’s Auckland engineering base.

The new contract extends the current contract for a further five years.

“It is a great endorsement of the work we have done over the past four years and the strong business relationship we have built up with this key customer,” said Air New Zealand Technical Operations General Manager Commercial and Business Development, Trevor Hughes.

Hawaiian Airlines’ Vice-President Maintenance and Engineering Lorrin Sardinha recently signed the contract renewal in front of the assembled heavy maintenance team in Auckland. He thanked them for being instrumental in Hawaiian Airlines’ success.

“What started as a business relationship four years ago has now turned into a partnership. As a team, Air New Zealand continues to deliver a Service Quality product that well exceeds our expectations,” he said.

Hawaiian Airlines’ 18-strong fleet is on its third rotation through the Auckland base. The aircraft are scheduled one immediately after the other, occupying one heavy maintenance line in Auckland for 10 months of the year.

Air New Zealand operates and maintains Boeing 767-300s as well as Boeing 777-300, 777-200 and 747-400 wide-body aircraft in its fleet. Air New Zealand Technical Operations recently won Aviation Week’s international MRO of the Year Award for Airline Maintenance.
