Auckland Airport appoints new general manager aeronautical operations
Auckland International Airport Limited (Auckland Airport) today announced that it has appointed Judy Nicholl as its new general manager aeronautical operations, reporting to Simon Moutter, chief executive. Judy had been working in this role in an acting capacity since April 2011 and will take up the position on a permanent basis from today.
Auckland Airport chief executive, Simon Moutter, said, “Judy is a proven performer whose leadership capability and focus on operational performance excellence will drive Auckland Airport forward as a business. Her background and skills in bringing people and organisations together to deliver quality outcomes leave me confident she will add significant value to the aeronautical operations and to the passenger experience at Auckland Airport.”
Ms Nicholl has been with Auckland Airport since 2006 as general manager human resources, working closely with the Aeronautical Division on a series of strategic initiatives and organisational change programmes. Prior to that, she has worked in a wide range of operational or human resources roles in the agribusiness, aviation, manufacturing, FMCG and public sectors, including roles with New Zealand Police, Affco, Unitech, Air New Zealand, and Fonterra.
Mr Moutter said Ms Nicholl was the outstanding candidate to take on this role permanently. “In the short time she has been acting in this role she has already made a real difference in a number of areas. She has a clear understanding of Auckland Airport and its operations, and of the environment and inter-dependencies in which the airport and its airline customers and stakeholders operate. I look forward to continuing to work with her as we strive to grow passenger volumes and continuously improve the passenger experience.”
