Marlborough District Council monitors PM10 concentrations, relative to the National Environmental Standard (NES), at air monitoring sites in Springlands and Redwoodtown in Blenheim.

The NES for PM10 allows the threshold of 50 µg m3 to be exceeded on no more than one day per year.

This threshold was exceeded for the first time this winter on the 2 July at the monitoring site in Redwoodtown where a daily average concentration of 82µg m3 was recorded. The threshold was exceeded for the second time this winter on the 3 July at the monitoring site in Redwoodtown where a daily average concentration of 51µg m3 was recorded.

Graphs of the air quality for Redwoodtown and Springlands can be viewed on the Monitoring page. Redwoodtown is updated hourly to show today's and yesterdays PM10 readings.
