When the White Ferns take the field for the One Day International against India on Thursday, Sara McGlashan will be representing New Zealand for the 100th time.

McGlashan, 29, made her ODI debut in 2002 and will be the just the seventh New Zealand woman to reach 100 caps.

An athletic fielder with a powerful arm, Sara is widely acknowledged as one of the best fielders in world cricket. Her quick running between the wickets and explosive hitting has netted her 2913 runs from 99 games to date.

McGlashan is hoping to mark the milestone by turning in a match winning performance against India on Thursday and finish the ODI Quadrangular Series on a positive note.

“The accolades are nice but my focus will be on performing for the team and hopefully contributing to a win over India,” said McGlashan.

“It’s a real honour to play 100 matches and something I’m sure I’ll look back on fondly at the end of my career.”

Commenting on McGlashan’s milestone, White Ferns coach Gary Stead said: “Sara has been a valuable member of the White Ferns over a long period of time. It’s not only her steady middle order batting but her dynamic fielding and the comradery she brings to the side.

"She is well respected and liked by her team mates for her professional work ethic and dedication.

“I know everyone will join me in recognising and celebrating Sara’s significant achievement.”
