One of the South Island’s leading providers of web and print services is now certified to create websites in the Kentico platform.

Blueprint managing director Michael Lightbourne says his company has made a significant financial investment and spent 18 months researching and testing to find the most innovative and progressive platform to migrate its existing web business on to.

“Kentico ticked all the boxes; it is incredibly powerful and flexible, and gives users the ability to easily modify their own site. Most importantly it is backed by a respected and substantial organisation that is continually updating and improving the software. Kentico software has a skilled team of 68 professionals, including developers, testers, technical writers, support engineers and sales staff”.

Partner Manager at Kentico, Lenka Navratilova, says the partnership with Blueprint is important to her company.

“Choosing the right platform for a web project is only a part of its way to success. The skills and expertise of the company that delivers it makes the rest. With our partnership with Blueprint Limited, we are sure that the end users of our product will be provided with top-level professional services.”

Kentico is currently used in 84 countries by more than 6,000 websites including some of the world’s biggest corporations such as McDonalds, Mazda and Vodafone,

Michael Lightbourne says this is an exciting development for large businesses and organisations as it will enable the building and management of any sized website, from simple ‘brochure’ sites to comprehensive, data hungry sites in a robust and technically superior platform.

“Kentico is modular so clients can start with a basic site and later add functions such as blogs, newsletters and e-commerce. Technical knowledge is not needed in order to update a Kentico website. If clients can use Microsoft Word, they can easily edit their site.”

“We are based outside of the CBD so our printing presses were not damaged. Our websites are hosted by third parties with servers throughout New Zealand, and all of them were live 100 percent of the time in the aftermath of the earthquake.

“We are big enough to cope small enough to care. We have a solid and stable reputation in the sector where it is undertood that Blueprint delivers on what we promise.”

About Michael Lightbourne, Blueprint Managing Director:
Since graduating from Otago University around fifteen years ago, Michael Lightbourne has been fully involved in the printing industry both domestically and in the UK, performing a variety of sales and management roles.

Through his experiences at other companies Michael identified ways to improve processes and deliver improved service and satisfaction to clients, but never had complete control to extend and integrate those processes fully. This led Michael to create Blueprint Ltd in 2005 and since the time of the first operation based in Timaru with 4 employees, Blueprint has grown to some sixty employees and is based in Christchurch offering a seamless and integrated solution incorporating design, print, web media, warehousing and logistics.

Michael says “We were never going to survive just being another printer. We were always going to have to deliver more than ink on paper to service our wide client base in a rapidly changing business environment”.

Michael believes that the success of the company is built on people and process equally and he is a hands-on driver of customer service, quality and innovation.
