Acting Passenger Services Manager David Stenhouse said that Metro services are reviewed regularly to make sure bus services meet people’s changing needs.

“Previously, you told us that you wanted quicker and more direct routes into town and better city centre connections. You also said that you wanted to be able to get to facilities and attractions such as Northtown Mall and Aorangi Stadium by bus.”

“We think this proposal is the best way of delivering the improvements you asked for, but why not tell us what you think?”

A review document that explains the proposed changes in more detail will be delivered to Timaru mailboxes this weekend. Each includes a freepost feedback form. All responses received will go in the draw to win one of ten $30 Metrocard top-up vouchers. The closing date for feedback is Mon August 22, 2011.

“We would welcome your thoughts on this proposal and to make sure everyone has that opportunity, you can also read the review document at Environment Canterbury Timaru Office or Timaru I-Site, or give us feedback online by visiting metroinfo.co.nz.”

“Alternatively if you would like to discuss the proposals or find out more information, come to the drop in session on Wednesday July 20 between 1 pm and 7pm at Caroline Bay Lounge.”

“We need your help to make Metro work even better for Timaru,” said Mr Stenhouse.
