Conference & Events Expo Essential for First-timers
People biting their nails over what to do for their company’s Christmas event or which caterer to choose for that upcoming conference should get down to the TSB Bank Arena on Wednesday 17 October.
Since it started in 2000, the Wellington Conference & Events Expo has grown from humble beginnings to an event that now attracts more than 1000 people.
Wellington Convention Centre Business Development Manager, Gillian Officer, says the expo has been so successful in previous years that other districts now hold similar regional events.
"People return each year to keep up-to-date with industry developments. This year, we have more than 100 exhibitors from venue to accommodation providers, professional conference organisers to photographers. There is also a strong focus on event organisation that has not featured in previous years."
Attendees will be able to sample cuisine from some of Wellington's top caterers, get great ideas for corporate gifts and take advantage of many of the exhibitors' expo discounts and special offers.
Positively Wellington Tourism Chief Executive, Tim Cossar, says the expo gives the Wellington Convention Centre an opportunity to bring in an array of Australian and domestic buyers.
"Last year's event resulted in an excess of $2 million worth of conference and event business being secured in Wellington. The expo demonstrates the variety, quality and value that Wellington can offer, and this produces a substantial return for those who take part in it."
The Wellington Conference & Events expo is recommended to anyone who organises conferences, seminars, dinners or any other events that require high-quality venues and top services providers.
The expo will be held between 10am and 5.30pm on Wednesday 17 October at the TSB Bank Arena on Queens Wharf. Admission is free.
