Destination Great Lake Taupō (DGLT) are seeking a new member to join the governance board after long standing Chairman, Seamus O’Sullivan, resigned last month.

DGLT is responsible for all destination marketing for the Taupō district, with the board providing governance and support to management. Earlier this year, DGLT became a Council Controlled Organisation (CCO) and now operates as a stand alone legal entity. With these recent changes, the board has significant autonomy and responsibility to make decisions that deliver better outcomes for the district’s visitor industry and community.

The attributes sought for the position include experience in strategic business decision-making, marketing, relationship building and the ability to represent the wider public.

Taupō District Council CEO, Rob Williams, says a passion for the Taupō district is important too. “The new vacancy gives the DGLT team an opportunity to increase its breadth of knowledge and skills. We are looking for someone that will complement the team and can help build on our current successes.”

For more information about the position, contact Taupō District Council, or keep an eye out for the ad online. Applications close 29 July.
