Rugby World Cup 2011 Roadshow rolls into Hamilton
Rugby fans will get a chance to have their photograph taken with the William Webb Ellis Cup
when the Rugby World Cup 2011 Roadshow rolls in to Hamilton this weekend.
The Roadshow is touring New Zealand in a custom-designed truck, and has featured regularly
on TVNZ’s Breakfast programme. It includes historic Rugby World Cup footage, interactive
footage with previous winning captains, a taste of the Real New Zealand festival, and local
performers from host communities. Classic cars and Rugby-themed games are also part of the
Roadshow.
The Roadshow also offers fans an opportunity to purchase Rugby World Cup 2011 match
tickets.
Councillor Peter Bos, Hamilton Rugby World Cup 2011 Ambassador, said the visit to Hamilton
by the Roadshow would heighten excitement ahead of the Tournament.
“The Roadshow will give visitors a great taste of what is ahead for us when we host Rugby
World Cup 2011 games. It offers fans an opportunity to get a really close look at the Trophy,
and relive some historic moments from previous Tournaments,” he said.
The Rugby World Cup 2011 Roadshow is at The Base on Saturday 23 July, from 10am to
12.30pm.
