The nineties gave us plenty of things we still love today – mobile phones, the internet, and JVC’s legendary BoomBlaster.

And like everything else that has evolved over the last two decades, the BoomBlaster is no exception.

The JVC RV-NB70 BoomBlaster Audio Portable is back and is packed with more features than ever, including a guitar and microphone input with mixing capabilities for quick and easy performance-style music enjoyment virtually anywhere.

First launched in 1998 and renowned for its high power and durability, the JVC BoomBlaster now also boasts a dock for iPod and iPhone that is protected behind a sealing door to prevent damage from the elements. A USB Host also allows playback of MP3 and WMA music stored on a USB mass storage device.

Additionally, the RV-NB70 includes a CD player that can handle MP3 and WMA file playback, and an FM tuner. An audio input makes it easy to connect to other devices that can be enjoyed through the powerful BoomBlaster sound system.

But while some of the JVC BoomBlaster’s features are now very 2011, it remains true to its heritage and retains the original version’s general design – a large cylindrical shape with a woofer at each end.

The BoomBlaster offers AC and DC operation and includes a shoulder strap, which, along with the remote control, makes it ideal for listening to outdoors or on the dance floor.

The JVC RV-NB70 BoomBlaster is available now for RRP $599 at Showroom.co.nz.
