Sue Duignan, Hamilton City Council’s People and Performance general manager, is leaving the organisation after 15 years.

She has held a number of positions within Council, including leading the Community Services Group for nine years.

“Her contributions to the organisation, the city, and the community have been significant and hugely valued,” said chief executive Barry Harris.

“In my brief time working with Sue, she has given important input at a senior management level and I have appreciated being able to call on her wealth of experience.”

Ms Duignan said she was immensely proud of what she had achieved during her career with Council, particularly the recruitment and development of key staff in the Community Services team and involvement in a number of major Council initiatives.

“I have been fortunate to be involved in high-profile and rewarding projects, and it is particularly fulfilling to have been involved with the planning stage of Claudelands refurbishment and the Hydrotherapy Pool, and to now see the result of that work,” she said. “I have worked alongside some great people at Council, and in the community.”

Ms Duignan completed a Masters of Management Studies earlier this year, and leaves next month to explore new opportunities.
