Public Citizenship Ceremony To Welcome Fifteen New Citizens of New Zealand
Mayor Alex Familton will welcome fifteen Waitaki residents to New Zealand when they are sworn in as New Zealand citizens at a public ceremony in the Waitaki District Council Chamber at 3.30pm on Thursday 28 July 2011.
Citizenship certificates will be presented to fifteen residents. Each of the new citizens will take the Oath or Affirmation of Allegiance, declaring that they will honour the Queen, obey the laws of New Zealand and be a good citizen.

The citizenship ceremony is an opportunity for the new citizens to publicly declare their allegiance to New Zealand and for the local community to welcome them on behalf of all New Zealanders.
