Malaysian cuisine proved to be one of the highlights of the Auckland Food Show this year with live demonstrations by Australian MasterChef series 2 winner Adam Liaw spicing up proceedings.

Adam Liaw is an ambassador for Malaysian cuisine and his two live cooking demonstrations showed guests how to create some sublime Malaysian dishes.

Adam demonstrated two classic Malaysian dishes for the 1,000 strong audience - Ayam Kapitan and Sambal Assam with Nasi Lemak. Foodies can try their hand at recreating Adam’s dishes for themselves by downloading the recipes from www.malaysiakitchen.co.nz.

Adam’s Malaysian heritage has helped shape and grow his love of good food.

“I love cooking with fresh, flavoursome Malaysian ingredients and incorporating local flavours and produce, it's a lot of fun - and delicious. I had a great time at the Show - the crowds were amazing and so passionate. NZ is certainly a nation of foodies”.

Adam also signed copies of his new cookbook Two Asian Kitchens.

The Malaysia Kitchen exhibited at the Food Show for the first time and showcased the best dishes from the colourful country. Local producers of Malaysian products also sampled their delicious fare and the site was sizzling with giveaways, sales, samples and recipes.
