The Collective scoops two Great Taste awards

New Zealand dairy company, The Collective, have been awarded two of the prestigious Great Taste Gold Awards from the United Kingdom Guild of Fine Food. The Collective’s Passionfruit yoghurt and Russian Fudge yoghurt were entered in the competition and each was awarded two stars, proclaiming the products as ‘faultless’. The Collective’s entries were the only luxury yoghurt products to gain two stars.

Of all the UK’s food award schemes, the Great Taste Awards is by far the most prestigious. Completely independent and uncompromisingly rigorous, it is trusted by retailers, buyers and consumers. Great Taste is to speciality food and drink what Michelin is to fine dining. Often referred to as the Oscars of the food world!

This year, over 7,400 products were judged over an intense two-month period. The awards’ organiser, the Guild of Fine Food is meticulous in the judging process, for two stars to be awarded; up to 20 judges must unanimously agree that the entry has achieved absolute perfection. Over 350 experts including key buyers, retailers, chefs and food writers, blind tasted entries to ensure they were fairly and independently assessed.

The Collective’s winning yoghurts will be stickered with the revered black and gold logo of the Great Taste Awards across the United Kingdom, a symbol of independently proven fine food. Winning a coveted Great Taste Award is much more than recognition for excellence; it is one of the most powerful tools to help a business to grow in the speciality food sector.
