Hastings Blossom Parade 17 September
The Hastings Blossom Parade dates back to the 1950s and is very much a part of the region’s identity. This year the Parade will be on Saturday 17th September.
Over 1000 people take part in the parade which is a multi-cultural community based celebration of the end of winter and celebrates the beginning of a new cycle. This year the parade welcomes the French and the Canadian teams who are playing their pool match the next day in Napier.
The Blossom Parade forms the kick off of the Hastings Blossom Festival which runs September 17th to 25th and celebrates the arrival of spring and the wonderful Hawke’s Bay produce that arises from that season.
The last weekend of the festival starts on Friday 23rd with Hot Pink, a charity event that features Hawke’s Bay rosé wines. Then on Saturday, the New Zealand Olive Festival celebrates all things olive, along with fine wine and good food. On Sunday the Hastings Farmers’ market delivers all sorts of fresh goodies.
There will be other great entertainment as part of the Blossom Festival including shows in the outstanding Hawke’s Bay Opera House. Click here to find out more.
