The SUBWAY® Pro Cycling team is looking forward to its first domestic race since April when the first round of the Benchmark Homes Tour kicks off in the Upper Moutere near Nelson on Saturday.

The majority of the team was based in the mid west of the United States during the winter where they raced in the Tour of America's Dairyland, Speedweek, America’s longest running Criterium series and the Alexian Brothers Tour of Elk Grove. Jason Allan returns from racing in Belgium.

“We are focused on team work to deliver the best result with six strong guys for Saturday,” SUBWAY® Pro Cycling’s Paul Odlin said.

“It is a hard hilly course and we want to have as many SUBWAY® Pro Cycling riders at the front of the race towards the end as possible. We’re really looking forward to racing as a team again at home in New Zealand.”

Odlin picked up the team’s best international result of the year to date, winning the sprinters classification at the Tour de Korea in April.

Saturday’s 130 kilometre race is the first of four in the Benchmark Homes elite racing series.

The SUBWAY® Pro Cycling team for Saturday is; Paul Odlin, Nick Lovegrove, Sam Horgan, Ian Smallman, Jason Allan and Tom Hubbard.
