The Warmup Pushbikes Cycling Team is looking forward to its first race since announcing its new sponsorship and team roster for the coming season.

Warmup Pushbikes Cycling Team Manager Kelly Chapman said he was looking forward to the team’s first hit out as the Warmup Pushbikes Cycling Team at the first round of the Benchmark Homes tour near Nelson on Saturday.

“It’s great to now have Pushbikes on board. They have been very supportive and we’re looking forward to building the relationship with them and delivering some value for them, Warmup and our other sponsors enthuse, Total Training, Peak Fuel and SKINS.”

“We are realistic about what our goals are; we are a category two team and want to do well in that category and enjoy the racing.”

Chapman said the team’s riders were all at different levels of fitness for the first race of the series but they were focused on having the minimum of five riders finish the race to ensure they picked up valuable points.

Saturday’s 130 kilometre race is the first of four in the Benchmark Homes elite racing series and features 72 riders from 12 teams.

The Warmup PushBikes Cycling Team for Saturday is; John McKenzie, Glen Quantock, Jeremy Inglis, Stephen Mark, Ben Wortelboer and Darron Burns.
