Take Care On Our Roads

Marlborough Civil Defence Emergency Management Group advises drivers to take extra care on the roads during the current cold weather system.

Tips and information for driving in icy or snowy conditions:

• Plan extra travel time and slow down
• Accelerate smoothly and brake gently
• Increase your following distance
• Be aware that roads can freeze at any time of day and that shaded areas may stay icy all day
• Negotiating bridges and overtaking manouvres require extra care in icy conditions.
