Placido Domingo to support Christchurch charities
World famous tenor, Placido Domingo, will touch down in Christchurch this October and local Visa debit, credit and prepaid cardholders have the opportunity to purchase advanced tickets.
The Spanish-born tenor will be in New Zealand for one show only and has postponed another commitment to support two Christchurch charities hard-hit by the February earthquakes – Court Theatre and the Christchurch Symphony Orchestra.
Placido Domingo has his own understanding of earthquakes through the loss of four family members in the 1985 Mexican earthquake and has been honoured in America for lifetime achievement in expanding the audience for opera and helping those less fortunate round the world.
Visa cardholders can get tickets to see Placido Domingo in Visa Entertainment’s exclusive pre-sale, from 9am on Wednesday 17th August until Thursday 18th August at 11.59pm. Presale ticket details are available at www.visaentertainment.co.nz
The first 150 Premium tickets purchased with Visa will include access to a cocktail function with Placido Domingo.
Tickets will go on sale to the general public at 9am on Friday 19 August 2011.
Visa cardholders in New Zealand are eligible for free membership to Visa Entertainment, a cardholder benefit program providing access to special offers from some major entertainment brands.
Cardholders can sign up to the program at www.visaentertainment.co.nz to access special offers using their Visa credit, debit or prepaid card. No points or waiting periods are required for redemption and there are no membership costs.
