Steampunk Exhibition at the North Otago Museum
Steampunk: Fabulous Fashions, Original Inspirations is an exciting new temporary exhibition at the North Otago Museum. The exhibition showcases garments from the Steampunk Fashion show alongside original Victorian items from the museum’s own collection.
A changing line-up will be presented over the course of the exhibition. The first selection of costumes includes a lunar explorer, a pioneering aviatrix and a Dragon Rider. Treasures from the museum’s collection on display this month include Thomas Forrester’s microscope and a Victorian fan decorated with a real hummingbird.
Curator Chloe Searle says “Both the Steampunk creations and original Victorian items are amazing. Come along, check out these fascinating items and be inspired”.
The exhibition is on every day and entry is free.
