Thirteen become new Kiwis
Thirteen people representing nine nationalities will today (Wednesday 24 August 2011) swear allegiance to The Queen and become new New Zealanders at a formal Citizenship in Rotorua.
The citizenship candidates’ nationalities are Bahranian, Fijian (2), Indian, South African, British (3), Samoan, Armenian, Dutch (2), and Chinese.
The public ceremony is at 1.30pm today in the Council Chamber at the Rotorua District Council Civic Centre and will be officiated over by His Worship the Mayor, Mr Kevin Winters.
