Ideas Invited on Okaihau to Horeke Section of Cycle Trail
Ideas on the route the Pou Herenga Tai – Twin Coast Cycle Trail should take between Horeke and Okaihau will be asked for at a mapping workshop in Okaihau on Thursday.
Cycle trail coordinator Adrienne Tari and land access negotiator Mita Harris will hold the workshop at the Okaihau Community Hall on September 1 at 6:30 pm.
They invite people from the Okaihau, Waihou Valley and Utakura Valley areas to attend and indicate possible trail routes on maps.
The Far North District Council will use the information to identify a viable route for the trail to join a 13km section of trail completed between Okaihau and Kaikohe in May.
A similar meeting for members of hapu Ngati Toro, Ngati Hao, Te Popoto and Te Ngahengahe will be held at Mokonuiarangi Marae in the Utakura Valley on September 8 at 6:30 pm.
