Pink Cap Drive Back for 2011
Building on the solid success of previous years, the Pink Cap Drive is back in 2011 and will run during the month of September.
The Pink Cap Drive is a joint venture between Bridgestone New Zealand Limited and the New Zealand Breast Cancer Foundation (NZBCF), which has raised over $220,000 since it began.
Ken Oyama, Director New Zealand Business for Bridgestone, says that the campaign has proven its worth since it launched in 2008 and that in 2011 the company is continuing its commitment to helping the thousands of Kiwi women affected by breast cancer.
“Over the last three years we have been overwhelmed by the support for this initiative, and the wider Bridgestone team has really enjoyed being a part of it. We’re ready to put all our efforts behind the Pink Cap Drive again this year and, as with every other year, donate 100% of the proceeds to the New Zealand Breast Cancer Foundation,” says Mr. Oyama.
“It’s extremely pleasing and rewarding when we see tyres fitted with the pink caps coming into our stores. Last year we sold over 70,000 caps and we’re looking forward to tremendous support again this year,” adds Mr. Oyama.
The NZBCF is dedicated to fighting against the incidence and effects of breast cancer in the community. Breast cancer is common in New Zealand, with one in nine women being at risk for the disease in their lifetime.
From September 1st, customers will be able to support the cause by purchasing their caps at either Firestone or Bridgestone Select stores throughout the country. The pink caps cost $2 each, all of which is passed on to The New Zealand Breast Cancer Foundation.
