NEW PLYMOUTH

A 'no dig' restriction is in place for contractors and utility operators around the Rugby World Cup matches in New Plymouth.

To minimise disruption to visitors, media and services, no Street Opening Notices (excavations) will be issued between the following dates:

  • 9-18 September inclusive.
  • 23–27 September inclusive.

The 'no dig' restrictions apply to all State Highways, arterial and collector routes, New Plymouth's CBD and the Westown area around Stadium Taranaki.

Excavations cannot be carried out during these times without a permit from New Plymouth District Council. A Street Opening Notice may be granted in non-critical areas.

New Plymouth’s three Rugby World Cup matches at Stadium Taranaki are on 11, 16 and 26 September .
