Christchurch residents wanting more information on the draft Central City Plan are invited to visit the Drop-in Centre at the Events Village this week.

After two weeks on the road, the Central City Plan roadshow ended on Saturday at Lyttelton with 170 residents heading along to learn more about what’s in the draft Plan and to talk to the city’s planners.

"Thousands of residents visited the roadshow when it was out in their community for the two weeks," says Central City Plan Project Sponsor Mike Theelen.

"Overwhelmingly, residents were positive about what was in the draft Plan. Many people came along to the roadshow to simply find out more detail about projects of interest to them which are detailed in the draft Plan."

He encourages everyone who did not get to visit the roadshow when it was in their community to call at the Drop-in Centre in the Geo Dome at the Events Village, Hagley Park, this week.

The Drop-in Centre is open 11am to 7pm today until Friday, and 11am to 4pm at the weekend. The Drop-in Centre closes at 4pm this Sunday 11 September.

Mr Theelen also reminded residents that comments on the draft Plan close next Friday 16 September at 5pm.

"Don’t forget to get your comments in early to ensure they are received in time to be considered by Council as it works to finalise the Plan for consideration by the Earthquake Recovery Minister later this year."
