Notice is hereby given pursuant to the Standing Orders of the House of Representatives that Hutt City Council intends to introduce a local bill into Parliament entitled the “Hutt City Council (Graffiti Removal) Bill”.

This is the first notification of the intention to introduce this Bill.

The object of this Bill is to empower the Hutt City Council to remove graffiti that is on private property and that is visible from a public place. It will provide for local control over the removal of graffiti in Lower Hutt.

This Bill is available for public inspection for at least 15 working days from Monday 29 August to Monday 19 September 2011 during office hours at the following locations:

  1. Hutt City Council offices, 30 Laings Road, Lower Hutt
  2. War Memorial Library, corner Queens Drive and Woburn Road, Lower Hutt
  3. Lower Hutt District Court, Laings Road, Lower Hutt
