Twitter Updates For City Cup Fans
Hamilton’s official Twitter feed will keep Rugby World Cup 2011 fans updated as the city hosts its first match in the Tournament.
New Zealand plays Japan this Friday night at Waikato Stadium in the first of three Rugby World Cup 2011 matches in Hamilton, and the city’s Hamilton_NZ Twitter feed will be operating throughout.
The Twitter feed can be accessed through the Hamilton NZ smartphone app, which includes a plug-in for Rugby World Cup 2011. The app is free to download and use. iPhone or iPad users can download the app from Apple’s app store, while users of other smartphones should visit www.hamilton2011.com
Rugby World Cup 2011 Ambassador Councillor Peter Bos said the Twitter feed would deliver vital information on any pedestrian or traffic congestion around the city.
“If things get a bit hectic or crowded in the city centre, on the Walking Route or around the stadium, you’ll read about on the Hamilton_NZ Twitter feed. Of course, we’ve planned extensively for this weekend, and we’re an experienced event city,” Cr Bos says.
