By-election to be held in Burwood-Pegasus ward

The Electoral Officer has this afternoon received notice that Burwood-Pegasus Councillor Chrissie Williams has resigned, thereby creating an extraordinary vacancy in the Christchurch City Council.

Electoral Officer Clare Sullivan says a Public Notice will be issued on Monday 19 September, giving notice of the election and calling for nominations. It will also provide information on where the electoral roll can be inspected.

“Nominations will open on Monday 19 September and will close at noon on Monday 17 October. Voting papers will be delivered to households in mid-November,” says Ms Sullivan.
Polling day will be 12 noon on Tuesday 6 December.
