The Jaguar XJ8 used by New Zealand’s Governor Generals since 2003 will go under the hammer next Saturday at Turners’ latest Prestige Auction.

The Jaguar, which has only done 63,000km, has been well maintained while in service and will be auctioned alongside four equally impressive 2008 BMW 730LDs, previously used to chauffeur Government Ministers.

"This is an incredibly rare opportunity to buy from a range of vehicles with a unique claim to New Zealand’s motoring history, and we expect significant interest,” says Graham Roberts, Turners’ Chief Executive.

The cars will be sold at Turners’ third Prestige Auction of the year, along with a host of other unique vehicles, including a gold 2002 Lamborghini Diablo SE and a baby-blue 2007 Ferrari F430 F1 Spider, complete with the original production handbook, and less than 3,000km on the clock.

"The calibre of vehicles being sold in Turners’ Prestige Auctions continues to rise. These are some of the most exotic and rare vehicles in the country," says Roberts.

The Auction will begin at 12:00pm on Saturday 24 September at Turners’ Penrose Branch, corner of Penrose and Leonard Roads, Auckland. Bidders are welcome to inspect the vehicles prior to the auction and a special viewing evening will be held on Thursday 22 September.

Bidders will be able to participate in the auction in person at the branch, online or via phone bid. To find out more and to see the full auction catalogue, go to the Turners website: www.turners.co.nz
