Volume of comments overload system

Hundreds of comments on the draft Central City Plan were received electronically last night overloading the Central City Plan email box

While Council is confident all the emails have been received because the system stores emails and releases these into the email box as it is cleared, Council Strategy & Planning General Manager Mike Theelen has asked people who sent emails overnight between 1.30am and 5.15am to check these did not bounce back.

“If their email did bounce back, then please re-send again before 5pm tonight.”

He says the program for comments on the centralcityplan.org.nz website also shutdown overnight because of a bug in the system. This was reset at 8am today.

“If anyone tried to submit overnight and couldn’t, we apologise for the inconvenience.

Comments can still be made on the website until 5pm tonight.”

Mr Theelen says more then 600 comments were logged through the website alone overnight.
