Wales players will wear black armbands in Sunday’s match against Samoa as a mark of respect for the four men who lost their lives in a mining tragedy in South Wales last week.

Phillip Hill, 45, Charles Breslin, 62, David Powell, 50, and Garry Jenkins, 39, died when they were trapped by flood waters in the Gleision mine in the Neath valley.

Wales assistant coach Rob Howley says the team's heartfelt condolences go out to the mining community.

"Mining has been a huge tradition in Wales. Our thoughts are with all the families and friends who have been through a difficult time in the last three or four days," he said.

Wales’ match with Samoa at Waikato Stadium in Hamilton kicks off at 1530.
