Tourism New Zealand's new social media campaign invites fans of the New Zealand 100% Pure Facebook page to discover what is going on in New Zealand right now in the "Capture 100% Pure You" mobile app, featuring geo-tagged traveler's photos on a New Zealand map.

By creating their own album of eight images, New Zealand fans can share a slide show of their desired trip on their own profile page to both friends and family.

The latest statistics from the Facebook competition show over 1,000 new fans in the contest's infancy with a high conversion rate from app visitor to album completion.

Tourism New Zealand General Manager Brand & International PR Catherine Bates says, "These results show that what we have created is very engaging for our Facebook fans.

"Also, for the first time due to recent Facebook changes we can see how many times people are sharing posts with friends. This means we are able to measure how effective the viral components of social media can be for campaign activity."

Three NZ$5,000 travel voucher grand prizes will allow winners to bring their ultimate photo album to life, while instant prizes for activities and accommodation will also be offered to get more fans to engage with the images on the contest map.

The content closes 9 November 2011 and is only available to people outside of New Zealand, with a key focus on Australia, UK and US.
