Coastal Walkway Survey Starts Tomorrow
From tomorrow (Saturday), the public will be asked their views about the Coastal Walkway.
Volunteers will be on the walkway at various times until the end of October with digital surveys for the public to fill out.
“The survey will take just a couple of minutes and will give us great information from all types of users – from walkers and runners to cyclists and rollerbladers,” says Manager Parks Mark Bruhn.
“We’ll be asking whether the Coastal Walkway should be renamed, as well as what they like most about the walkway and a few other questions as well.
“It would be great if people stop to give their input when they see the survey-takers on the walkway.”
In August the Council proposed ‘Coastal Pathway’ as a new name to reflect the multiple use of the route, and decided to seek public feedback on this and alternative possible names.
The public can also have their say by filling out a survey form at the Civic Centre, Puke Ariki and district libraries, and on this website.
