Update on roading conditions (2pm)

Drivers are asked to take care on the roads around the western, central and southern areas of Southland as many are affected by surface flooding. Southland District Council contractors are checking roads throughout the area, but not all affected sites are signed because of the extent of flooding.

Drivers need to drive to the conditions on both main and local roads as the minor flooding is widespread. For state highway conditions, please check www.nzta.govt.nz and for further general roading updates check www.aa.co.nz.
