Voting For The 2011 Fonterra Elections Underway

Voting is now open for the 2011 Fonterra Board of Directors’ and for the Shareholders’ Councillor Elections in Ward 16 (Rotorua), Ward 22 (Central Taranaki), Ward 25 (Northern Manawatu), Ward 26 (Hawke’s Bay) and Ward 31 (Mid Canterbury).

This year there are ten candidates standing for the three positions on the Board of Directors. They are Grant Cochrane, David MacLeod, Trevor Hamilton, Jan Marten Kingma, Lachie Cameron, Ken Hames, Gray Baldwin, Maurice Hardie, and the two incumbent Directors Jim van der Poel and John Monaghan. All ten candidates took part in the Candidate Assessment Panel process this year.

Fonterra shareholders have the opportunity to meet Director candidates and ask questions at the Directors’ Election Candidate Roadshow meetings which have been scheduled for 31 October to 4 November 2011. The dates and venues for the Roadshow meetings are:

Secure online voting is again available this year via Fencepost with the process having been further simplified. With one login shareholders will be able to vote for both the Fonterra Elections and Annual Meeting resolutions. Fax voting and postal voting can also be used.

Voting closes at 10.30am on Tuesday 15 November 2011 and results will be announced later that day via media release and on Fencepost.
