LOWER HUTT

We are looking for volunteers to assist and play an important part in keeping our streets safe by monitoring footage from our city’s CCTV cameras.

Your role will be to alert police to any criminal activity you observe from monitors based at the Lower Hutt Police station.

Volunteers have been instrumental in catching many offenders and preventing assaults, tagging and thefts.

We currently have cameras in the Lower Hutt CBD, Naenae, Petone and Stokes Valley and there are plans to install cameras in the Wainuiomata shopping area.

Volunteers are required at any time day or night for as long or a short a period as you can manage.

A recent $25,000 upgrade of Lower Hutt's CCTV camera system is already proving its worth.

For more information contact Kelsey at Hutt Safe City Inc, Hutt Safe City Group, C/- Lower Hutt Police Station 19-23 Kings Crescent, Lower Hutt, ph 560 2622 or email nsgroup@xtra.co.nz.
