Christmas at Clarence St back for its fifth season
Hamilton’s ‘Christmas at Clarence St’ theatre programme is back for its fifth year, with a great line-up of entertainment to celebrate the festive season.
The Christmas at Clarence St programme began in 2007 after being initiated by Hamilton City Theatres in partnership with local and national organisations.
Hamilton City Theatres Business Development Manager Megan Lyon said that five years on, Christmas at Clarence St is still going strong: “It is great that we are able to work in partnership with local and national production companies to present this programme for a fifth year,” she said.
“Christmas at Clarence St is ideal for social groups or businesses that are looking to plan ahead for their Christmas function, with the variety of entertainment in this year’s programme meaning that a diverse range of tastes are catered to.”
The 2011 Christmas at Clarence St programme gets underway on 2-3 December with a Comedy Xmas Showcase, hosted by local award-winning comedian Brendhan Lovegrove. He will be joined by the very popular Gish and his notorious song parodies, and Nick Rado who returned to New Zealand in 2010 after 5 years on the UK Pro Comedy circuit, along with two more yet-to-be-confirmed acts.
On 9-10 December True Legends will present the true legends of New Zealand country music, TV's original stars, Gray Bartlett, Eddie Low, Brendan Dugan, and Jodi Vaughan with the All Star Band star in a very special Christmas celebration.
The programme will wrap up on 17-18 December with More Impact – an all new song and dance cabaret show produced by Drury Lane and featuring special guest performer Mr Ray Woolf.
