Work to begin on new children's playground for Queens Square

Work is about to begin on a new children’s playground for Queens Square.

The slide was removed earlier this year for safety reasons and the rest of the existing playground equipment is to be removed, starting this Monday (November 21st).

Excavation work is to be carried out prior to the installation of a base for the new equipment which will be covered in a safety surface. The new playground equipment is due to be installed from Thursday December 8th and the project is expected to be completed before the Christmas holiday period.

The work at Queens Square will also include the installation of new pathways, which will provide convenient access to the new playground. There will also be a pathway circuit surrounding the playground which will allow children to practice their bike riding skills in a safe environment.

This project is part of Hastings District Council’s ongoing commitment to providing quality parks and reserves for the community.
