New Customer Relationships GM for Council
Hamilton City Council has appointed Jason Dawson as its new Customer Relationships General Manager.
Jason, who is currently General Manager Community Relations at Northland Regional Council, will start in the role in February. He will oversee Council’s customer strategy and delivery, governance and democratic support, I-site and communication, marketing and online.
He brings with him a range of experience from his 15 years working in local government, with recent responsibility for communication, marketing and online, customer service, events and iwi liaison. He also has extensive crisis management experience working on responses to emergency events in Northland, the Christchurch earthquake and more recently in Tauranga with the grounding of the Rena.
He and his team have won a number of awards for their website and intranet, and he is on the Executive Board for the Association of Local Government Information Management (ALGIM).
Council Chief Executive Barry Harris says: “We are pleased to welcome Jason to Council and know he will be a great asset for us and for the city as a whole with the range of experience, skills and attributes he brings.
“He reflects well Council’s new purpose, in particular our aim to provide exceptional service to the city, and I look forward to his energy, drive and fresh approach to how we connect with our residents and stakeholders.”
