New CEO appointed for trust
A Queenstown woman has been appointed to the new position of Wakatipu Trails Trust chief executive officer.
“We are delighted to announce that Renee Bowman will take up the position from November 19,” trust chairman John Wilson said.
The 31-year-old has a BSC in Human Movement from the University of Ballarat and a Masters in Nutrition and Dietetics from Deakin University.
Currently studying for a graduate diploma in journalism and communications from the University of Queensland, Ms Bowman also holds a variety of certificates in accounts management, sales and marketing, sports dietetics, strength and conditioning.
“As a registered ‘friend’ of the trust, I already had a keen interest in the work that has been ongoing in the Wakatipu basin and I’m very much looking forward to being integrally involved in the future delivery of the organisation,” Ms Bowman said.
Also a trustee of the Wakatipu District Youth Trust, Ms Bowman currently works full time for Public Health South as a Queenstown based health promotion advisor.
“Renee is energetic, enthusiastic, dynamic and well organised, all pre-requisites for the job that we have no doubt she will ably undertake,” Mr Wilson said.
The new role would take over from the role of facilitator previously held by Tina Haslett.
“Tina has moved on to new challenges but the trust is very grateful to her for the work that she contributed,” Mr Wilson said.
