QUEENSTOWN

An historic lakefront property in the heart of Queenstown will be hosting an exclusive New Year’s Eve cocktail party to celebrate the start of 2012 in style.

Eichardt’s Private Hotel will herald the start of the New Year with a select get-together in a private wing of the hotel, overlooking the clear waters of Lake Wakatipu and surrounding mountains.

Partygoers will be treated to a three-hour celebration where they can enjoy a gorgeous selection of house-made canapés and a range of beverages.

At midnight guests will toast the New Year with a glass of bubbles and enjoy the ‘best seat in the house’ for the legendary midnight fireworks display over Queenstown Bay.

“As this is my first year at Eichardt’s, I wanted to invite locals and visitors to Queenstown, not just our house guests, to come and help us celebrate at this special time,” said Eichardt’s General Manager Chris McIntosh.

“Numbers will be relatively limited as we will be hosting the cocktail party in the stunning Eichardt’s Parlour on the first floor of the property.

“The Parlour has awe-inspiring views over Lake Wakatipu and sets its own standards for gracious style with exquisite antiques and objets d’art to complement the night’s celebrations.

“It’s a chance for guests to sample freshly-made canapés prepared by our Executive Chef Gwen Harvie, who has previously worked at Michelin-starred and multi-award-winning restaurants in New Zealand and overseas.”

The exclusive cocktail party will start at 9.30pm on New Year’s Eve and finish at 12.30am on New Year’s Day.

“We’re really looking forward to providing the ultimate hospitality experience to all guests on the night at Queenstown’s supreme lakefront property. It will be a fantastic night out for everyone who attends,” said Mr McIntosh.

Tickets are $155 per person and include all canapés, a three-hour beverage selection including wine, beer and juice, and a glass of bubbly at midnight. Reservations are essential as numbers are limited to 40. Contact General Manager Chris McIntosh on 03 441 0450 or email cmcintosh@eichardts.com
