Christchurch City Council is offering low cost all-day parking in the Central City to encourage visitors to stay longer in the area.

The new all-day parking offer will commence on Monday 5 December.

The all-day parks will be available at existing designated ‘pay and display’ on-street parking spaces. There is a maximum fee of $4.

Mayor Bob Parker would like to see people park for longer in the Central City and support the area. “I am delighted that we can offer low cost parking which will encourage visitors to stay longer in the Central City area. This new parking initiative, along with the establishment of the temporary bus interchange ‘Central Station’ and the opening of City Mall Restart will continue to add to the vibrancy of the Central City.”

Signage will be located in the areas where all-day parking is available. As the Central City Red Zone cordon is further reduced, it is anticipated that further all-day parking will be available in the New Year.
