Mayor of Lower Hutt hosting community volunteers breakfast on Monday 5 December, The Dowse, 7.30 a,m

The Mayor of Lower Hutt Ray Wallace is hosting community volunteers to a “thank you” breakfast at the Dowse on Monday morning starting at 7.30am.

You are invited to cover this event and, if you wish, join the Mayor for breakfast.

In notes prepared for the event, the Mayor said he appreciated the effort and commitment of volunteers and the difference they made to making Lower Hutt a good place to live.

The strength of the Hutt is in its communities and the strength of communities is volunteers, he said.

2011 is the 10th anniversary of the United Nations year of the volunteers.
